The Center for Documentation and Information on Women´s Issues (CEDOICOM) is an NGO founded on December 4, 1994 for Negra women from various professional backgrounds with the primary goal of eliminating all forms of oppression suffered by women, primarily for those who have a greater probability of being discriminated against or socially excluded, like Negras, those in poverty, lesbians, the incarcerated, just-freed and at-risk girls and adolescents.

CEDOICOM´s activists from different movements are academic leaders and humanitarians from Rio de Janeiro, all dedicated to the defense of human rights, citizenship and the elevation of women´s self-esteem who live in unprivileged situations in society.

  • To combat all forms of oppression and discrimination involving women, primarily Negra women.

  • To contribute to the empowerment of Negra women, primarily those that have a higher probability of experiencing discrimination or social exclusion, like poor women, lesbians, incarcerated, just-freed and girls and adolescents in at-risk situations.
